It was yet another dark chilly night in the forest of no return. The forest was cold. A place of perpetual shadow. The dark cold forest echoes an eerie sound. The forest carefully watches. Those eyes, yes, those piercing yellow eyes intently stare.
People who enter the dark forest are aware of the dark wolf’s presence, yet some choose to ignore it. The black wolf prowls in the night, in control, stalking those who dare enter. He hides quietly behind a tree, eagerly watching—waiting to pounce on the intruder who foolishly ignores his warning . The trees are part of him. Their branches swaying like arms ready to reach down and grab anyone who passes through the entrance of the forest. Just as the lion is the king of the jungle, so too is the wolf the king of the forest. The ultimate predator of his world. The guardian of the dark cold forest breathing terror into the frigid blackness. He breathes a warning to those who would dare trespass into his domain: You may not enter. If you do I will feast upon your flesh. I will drink of your blood as it runs out of your lifeless body. I will extract your soul.
A man began to stroll down one of the forest’s lonely paths. It was a path of total blackness. Dead silent. As he waked, the trees stood still. The birds and other creatures dared not speak.
The man didn’t know the wolf controlled what lay before him. That everything and everyone is under his command.
The man whistles, oblivious to the imminent danger ahead.
The black wolf seeks his prey. He creeps silently like a slithering snake— the blood running in the man’s veins a sweet nectar.
The black wolf waits patiently.
And as the foolish man takes his final step, the keeper of the forest takes his soul. Strips him of life and his final breath.
Once he’s done, the majestic black wolf stands high upon a rock, looking over his land. His haunting eyes scanning once again, on the hunt for souls of those who do not heed his warning.
How can anyone be so imprudent? He growls. So mindless as to challenge such a leader as the black wolf? He utters the words over and over again.
This is my world. This blackened forest is my realm! Do not test me for you will be no more.
A stream trickles down reflecting a gloomy light. The moon is but a silhouette behind cluster of gray clouds. The black wolf arches up and fills the night sky with his deep and terrifying howl—blanketing the dark forest in its entirety. The leaves on the trees vibrate as if they too are frightened. His call is a message of dread.
Before long, another man foolishly shuns the warnings. He, too, enters, walking down the same darkened path as the man before him. The chilling quiet atmosphere would send a rage of fear through almost anyone, but this man acts as if he has not a care in the world. He casually ambles, ahead unaware of the horror that will soon befall him.
His weight snaps a fallen branch in half, breaking the silence. The birds and other creatures look to him and each other as if they know what comes next.
The black wolf sniffs the crisp, chilled air, then feels the man’s heart pumping in his chest like a drum. The fearless guardian of the dark forest stares at the trespasser with those stabbing yellow eyes. Little by little, he lifts his feet one by one slowly pacing forward to the man’s destiny.
Your death will soon strike you.
The man sees the eyes before the wolf. He freezes at the sight, intent on escape, but it is futile. The eyes are almost hypnotizing. He looks directly into them, his bottom lip twitching in fear, before the eyes leap forward, revealing the teeth below them.
The black wolf also takes this man’s life, ripping out his soul. The black wolf satisfied his craving. In an instant, the man’s eyes are emptied. He is a hollow shell that speaks no more, nor sees no more.
Do not enter the cold dark forest. Stay away, far away. Sure, it may be intriguing. Your curiosity may get the best of you, but one thing’s for certain, if you enter you will meet the black wolf and your fate.
